Low Light

Summary – Experience the Challenge of the Dark

Join us for our monthly Low Light Match, where we move beyond the flat range and test your skills in a nighttime environment. Whether you are looking to test your home defense setup or simply want a new competitive challenge, our match provides a safe and controlled atmosphere to shoot in the dark.

Match Schedule  & Logistics

We run a tight ship to ensure everyone gets maximum trigger time. Please note that the safety brief is mandatory for all participants.

  • 5:30 PM: Range Preparation & Setup for RSOs (Volunteers are welcome!)
  • 6:30 PM – 6:45 PM: On-site Registration in the clubhouse meeting room
  • 6:45 PM: Mandatory Safety Briefing
  • 7:00 PM: Match Start (following Course of Fire instructions)
  • Entry Fee: $10 (Spectators are always welcome at no charge.)

Course of Fire

The match Course of Fire will change every month. However, there will always be a pistol and a rifle course. The courses will be explained and demonstrated by our RSOs prior to anyone shooting. Participants should be prepared for both to get the most excitement from our match.

Recommendations for Match Participants

Because this match takes place after sunset, specific gear is required to ensure both safety and performance:

  • White Light: A light source is required to identify targets and navigate the course. A mounted light (WML) is highly recommended for the best experience, but a high-output handheld flashlight is acceptable.
  • Ammunition Count: We recommend bringing a minimum of 100 rounds of pistol ammunition and a minimum of 60 rounds of rifle ammunition. While you may not use it all, it is best to have extra in case of malfunctions or stage re-shoots.
  • Magazine Storage: Please have a secure way to carry spare magazines on your person. Whether you use a dedicated belt setup, a chest rig, or simply your pockets, being able to access reloads in the dark is essential.
  • Footwear & Terrain: As the match mostly takes place on grass, we strongly recommend wearing comfortable, non-slip footwear or boots with good traction. Proper footing is essential for maintaining a stable shooting platform and moving safely between positions.
  • Safety Visibility: To ensure Range Officers and other shooters can see you at all times, glow sticks are provided and must be worn for the duration of the match. You may bring your own illumination, but it must be worn on the top of your head so it can be seen from 360 degrees.
  • Firearms: Our Courses of Fire are designed for Pistol, Rifle, and/or Pistol Caliber Carbines (PCC). There are no separate divisions. Note: If you only have one platform (Pistol only or Rifle only), you are still encouraged to participate! We can adapt to fit your gear.

New Shooters & Registration

We pride ourselves on being a welcoming community. If you are new to low-light shooting, our Range Safety Officers (RSOs) will walk you through the Course of Fire and ensure you are comfortable with the demands of our match.
